Department of journalism It was a modest start with a Bachelor Degree in Journalism in 2014.Since then it has been the leading department in the Humanities.

The department grew into one of the most important departments in the faculty of Arts.

This Department of Journalism is a vibrant growing and exciting place to begin either a career in communication or to learn how to be a skilled person by using the tools of media and communication.

While rooted in tradition and folk media, Department of Journalism also offers an impressive innovative student centered curriculum that prepares students for careers in contemporary mass communications. The students are learning in an environment that is parallel in Journalism and communication education.

BEST PRACTICES OF THE DEPARTMENT

*The first 15 minutes of the class is reserved for newspaper reading and deliberations on current events

*Daily broadcast of afternoon news bulletin.

*The students are divided into groups comprising of all the batches and are tasked with the responsibility of bringing out monthly hand written newsletter.

*Media club which includes the entire three batches meet once in fifteen days and involve themselves in team activities, moral and personality development orations.

*Eminent Professional journalists are invited regularly to interact with the students.

*To make the students imbibe newspaper reading habit and are made to buy their own copies daily.
