    “National cadet corps”


    The National cadet corps is an Indian military cadet corps with its headquarters at New Delhi, India. It is a voluntary basis. National cadet corps is a Tri-services organisation,composing the Army, Navy and Airforce, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into desciplined and patriotic citizens. The National Cadet Corps in  India is a voluntary organisation which reunits cadets from high school,colleges and universities all over India. The cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course.


    The NCC  is the world’s largest uniformed youth organisation. It was formed under National Cadet Corps Act of 1948.  The NCC is headed by a Director General with the rank of lieutenant general. Recently ie., on 31 Jan. 2019 Lt.Gen. Rajeev Chopra has taken over as Ncc Director General.  There are 96 Group head quarters in the country which exercise control over a network of 684 army wing unit, 60 Naval wing units and 61 Air squadrons.  There are two training establishments namely officer’s training school,Kamptee and women officer’s training school,Gwalior.


    The Motto of Ncc is-”Unity and Discipline”

    The Aim of NCC is-

    *To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth

    *To take up a career in the armed forces.

    To develop character, camoradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst the youth of the country.


    Cauvery College, Virajpet was started in the year 1980 as women’s college and in the same year Ncc was also started as a part of the curriculum. The Ncc group in our college falls under 19 KAR BN. Its office is situated at Madikeri under the able leadership of commanding office. Col.V.M. Naik.


    The group consists of 52 SW cadets, who actively participate in various activities such as camps of various levels, blood donation camps, Swatchtha Abhiyan, campus cleaning.


    In the academic year 2018-19 our cadets participated in various camps held at different parts of India.

    They are

    - CATC (Combined Annual Training Camp) was organised at Coorg Public School, Gonikoppal from 17-5-2018 to 26-5-2018. Our Cdt. Kavana K.C. Cdt. Kaveramma, Cdt. Suvin T.S, Cdt Harshitha E.S, Cdt.Thanusha Thangamma, Cdt.Rachana K.S, Cdt.Agnes Vishma K.A, Cdt.Chashma H.S, Cdt Archana H.D.participated in it.


    CATC held at Govt. Polytechnic college Tumkur from 6-9-2018 to 15-9-2018. Our Cdt.Deena T.S, Cdt. Archana H.D, Cdt Suvin T.S, Cdt Kavana K.C. Cdt Kaveramma K.C.Cdts. Rachnan Chashma, Harshitha, Thanusha Thangamma, Meghana, Dhreshya, Arathi, Gowramma, Dakshitha Monnappa, Mizba Kaushore M.N. actively participated i it.


    Army attachement camp was held at Belgaum from 19-9-2018 to 28-09-2108 our Cdt.Hemavathy J.P & Cdt. Pooja N.R. participated in it.


    CATC camp was held at Alvas College Moodbedri from 28-9-2018 to 7-10-2018 our Cdt. Vikitha P.V, Cdt.Deena T.S, Cdt. Agnes Vishma, Cdt Arathi B.M. Cdt. Mizba Kausar M.N. Cdt Nisha B.P. participated in it.


    RDC camp was organised by Alvas Moodbidri from 28-09-2018 to 7-10-2018 where our Cdt.Meghana T.S. and Cdt. Drushya K.R. actively participated in it.


    Along with all the above activities our cadets involved themselves in cleaning the campus under Swachtha Abhiyaan.


    NCC celebrated Republic day on 26th January 2019 with a parade and cultural progammes.  10 Cadets appeared for ‘B’ certificate and 8 Cadets appeared for ‘C’ Certificate  examination in the month of February.  Out of which 13 Cdts cleared ‘B’ Certificate and 3 Cdts cleared ‘C’ Certificate.
